February 2015 seems like a long time ago… That was when Universal Orlando announced that they will be building a third theme park to go along with Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
Fast forward two years and a few months and Volcano Bay will officially open its gates to the public on May 25th, 2017!
Here’s your first look inside of this beautiful 53 acre water park.
As soon as you enter Volcano Bay, you will be greeted by a massive 200ft. volcano called Krakatua!
Why build such a massive volcano if it’s not an active volcano? Or if it doesn’t have any water slides inside of it?
Well good news… It’s active alright! Plus, there are slides surrounding the base of the Volcano and if you look closely, you will see there’s a few slides that are near the top of the volcano!
Krakatua Aqua Coaster – Is a water coaster that will blast your raft up and down hills through the inside of the volcano!
Ko’okiri Body Plunge – Is the tallest water slide in Florida! It stands at a height of 125ft! This trap door style slide will plummet you down at 70 degrees!
Maku – A wild multi-passenger slide that is the first of its kind in North America!
Puihi – This multi-passenger slide will drop you numerous times through tunnels and drops!
Volcano Bay features your normal water park attractions like a lazy river and a wave pool.
The parks lazy river is called Kopiko Wai Winding River and it passes through Krakatau and through multiple caves!
Waturi Beach is the parks wave pool and is the perfect spot to capture that selfie with Krakatau looming behind the wave pool!
Want another piece of awesomeness? The park has a virtual line system where you don’t have to physically wait in any lines… What’s better than that?
Overall, Volcano Bay is simply amazing! This hands down is the best water park in the world! There’s even talks that they are going to expand the park within the next year or two!
When’s your Volcano Bay trip?
