This past spring my fiancé and I ventured down to Key West for a long weekend. Don’t worry our puppy Minion went with us as well. The three of us really enjoy our time down in the Keys and who wouldn’t? You are surrounded by water, there is always a breeze and you have some of the best restaurants in the world at every corner!

We arrived at the Frances Street Bottle Inn after our easy 6-hour drive from Orlando. We were greeted by the friendly owner who was very helpful in many ways. Personal tip – if you ever stay at a Bed & Breakfast always ask the owner what to see and do and where to eat. They live there so they will definitely know the best spots!

Top 10 Things To Do In Key West

Once we put our suitcases in our room on the second floor we immediately didn’t want to leave because of the beautiful view. Once we spent a few hours relaxing at the Inn we ventured up to Duval Street to get something to eat.

Duval Street is the main street in Key West. This street is unlike any other you’ve been on. There are tons of shops, restaurants, and attractions along the main stretch.

After trying one of the famous Sloppy Joe Sandwiches at Sloppy Joes (you cant leave Key West without trying one) we walked over to Mallory Square for the festivities. You should plan on arriving here around two hours before the sunset. There are dozens of vendors serving fresh squeezed lemonade, popcorn, and other tasty treats.

Be sure to stop and watch one of the entertainers that are usually doing something cool like breathing fire, walking a tightrope or picking on someone in the crowd. These guys are great and they are out every night!

Once you get to experience Mallory Square then focus your attention on the water for the best sunset in the world. It is truly breathtaking.  It is also a perfect time for a romantic kiss. Be sure to bring your camera!

Throughout the weekend we traveled around the island on our bicycles! By far the best and most fun way to tour the island! While you are here be sure to visit places like Smathers Beach, Key West Garden Club, The White Street Fishing Pier, South Beach and our favorite Fort Zachary Taylor Park!

Fort Zachary Taylor Park has a cheap entrance fee but is totally worth it. Be sure to bring your swimsuit because this park is home to the best beach in Key West! Crystal clear water and perfect sand make this a must stop for beach lovers! You can easily spend a whole day here at this remote beach.
